In December, DIU World Arts PhD student, Héber Negrão, celebrated his appointment to the Wycliffe Global Alliance (WGA) Board of Directors. Hailing from Brazil, he will represent the Americas area on the WGA board.
Although Héber never expected to find himself in global leadership, God has been preparing him for this role for years, beginning when he attended an international leadership conference with the Lausanne Movement in 2016. Attending that conference led to Héber representing his organization, the Evangelical Missionary Linguistics Association (ALEM), in various international meetings. Then, when ALEM needed an executive director in 2020, Héber stepped into the role for nine months while the organization searched for a permanent director. He is well prepared for his new role on the WGA Board of Directors.
Héber hopes that, in this role, he can spread his passion for ethno-arts ministry and make more people aware of its importance. He is excited to be a channel to promote Bible translation in the whole Americas area—not only in Brazil, which was as far as his dreams had previously reached. “I’m sure God has greater plans for us than we do,” he shares. “I’m just available to be used in whatever capacity God wants.”
Please join us in prayer for Héber as he begins this new adventure.
