Volume XII, Issue 12

Nothing has impacted our world as much as the birth of the Christ Child — God who became flesh. We celebrate his birth, follow his teachings, and have faith in his work on the cross for us. But so many have yet to hear this wonderful news in a language and form they can understand, including deaf communities. There are still over 2,400 language groups who do not have even one verse of scripture in their language. We must end this Bible poverty!

Thank you for standing with us, supporting us, and praying for us as we pour well-educated workers into the Bible Translation and Great Commission movements. Together we are making an impact. We estimate that our alumni are involved in at least 25 percent of all translation projects currently underway! And with a growing student body, that impact will only increase.

On behalf of all of us at Dallas International University, I wish you a Merry Christmas and every possible blessing for 2020!

Stewardship is a core value at DIU, and as an educational institution, we strive to help students avoid going into further debt. Because we do not offer federal student loans, we look to generous financial partners like you to help train the next generation of workers for the field.

A recent survey revealed that over 90 percent of those responding completed their studies without going into further debt while at DIU. This is made possible, in part, because our faculty raise their own support, but also because YOU have given in support of scholarships, and YOU have given toward our operating budget to keep costs low so that we can pass those savings on to our students. You help more students to complete their training, and together, we are making a worldwide impact.

Speaking of impact…Praise Report from the Field: Remember a few months ago when we shared about David and Stacey Hare’s mother tongue literacy, translation, and Oral Bible Storying work in Cameroon? In that report, we shared Stacey’s prayer request that the Lord would bring her close friend, Mami, to a relationship with Christ. We are thrilled to share that recently, Mami and two other members of their community were baptized after professing faith in Jesus!

Your gifts empowered the Hares to train here at DIU, which prepared them for their work in Cameroon, which sowed seeds into the hearts of this community, which is producing fruit in the hearts of people like Mami. See how this works?

We praise God for the answered prayer and we praise God for people like YOU, whose partnerships are part of the domino effect all around the world.
