Every two years, DIU and SIL co-host the BT Conference where presenters from around the world share ideas and experiences in this academic setting. DIU is offering the course “AL5398: Current Issues in Translation,” which provides instruction in addition to attending the BT conference. You will learn about the important themes presented at the BT Conference such as Orality, Scripture Engagement, Consulting, Key Terms and Biblical Exegesis, and Translation Theory.
The BT Conference for 2023 is hosted at Dallas International University. Students enrolled in AL5398: Current Issues in Translation will interview a selection of leaders and authors from the BT field, read current topics, engage with their own research topic as part of their own reflection and experience.
Are you interested? Register for AL5398: Current Issues in Translation (Fall 2023) for course credit. Not a DIU student yet? Apply for Gateway Admission. Auditing students are also welcome to enroll. The BT Conference fee is applied toward the tuition cost for non-auditing students.
Instructor: Scott Berthiaume (PhD, UT Arlington) has worked in BT in Latin America since 1995. Currently, he is the President of DIU. Formerly, he served with SIL in the areas of language program services, linguistic consulting, partner relations and academic training.
