About Carol

Carol first came to GIAL as a student in 2004, where she completed an MA with a major in Applied Linguistics.  She met her husband, Matt, during her first term while taking Language and Society.  They worked in a multilingual education project in Southeast Asia after completing their studies.  Carol loves working with the students and introducing them to the world of linguistics.  Her favorite courses to teach (or assist in teaching) include Introduction to Language Structures, Second Language and Culture Acquisition, and Phonetics.

More interesting Facts:

– Carol has wanted to work in the field of Bible Translation since she was 15 years old.

– She has seen Pride and Prejudice about 50 times.

– She is from Michigan and her husband is from Arkansas (they consider it a cross-cultural marriage).
