World Arts Connections

SIL International Ethnomusicology and Arts Group has focused for decades on research, documentation and promotion of artistic forms of communication around the world in order to help communities meet their needs and goals. The Dallas International World Arts program owes much of its success to the years of fieldwork of SIL International.

Global network: ICE (International Council of Ethnodoxologists) is for connecting like-minded people to learn about ethnodoxology. Sign up for the free newsletter, see the benefits of membership here, and “like” ICE’s Facebook page at

Regional networks: ALDEA (Asociación LatinoAmericana De EtnoArtes), PECOP (Philippine Ethnoarts Community of Practice), and the Arts in Mission Korea.

GCoMM (Global Consultation on Music and Missions) began in 2003 and is held every 3-5 years in various places around the world. It is a gathering that is a “must” for people interested in arts and missions. The last event was on July 6-9, 2015, in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
