Dallas International University Appoints Dan Boerger as Spiritual Life Consultant
DALLAS, Texas, August 24, 2026 — Dallas International University has appointed Daniel “Dan” Boerger as Spiritual Life Consultant, effective July 22, 2026. In this role, Boerger will support the spiritual growth and well-being of DIU students through personal conversations, prayer, spiritual guidance, and confidential peer counsel.
“My hope is to serve and encourage DIU students by getting to know them, spending time with them, and being available for conversation, prayer, and confidential peer counsel,” Boerger said. “I will also pray daily by name for every student enrolled during the current term. Whether connecting with local students in person or meeting with distance students through Teams, I want students to know that someone is available to listen, encourage them, and pray with them.”
Boerger brings decades of experience in cross-cultural ministry, Bible translation, teaching, administration, and spiritual formation. He served for nearly 20 years as a translation project adviser with Wycliffe Bible Translators and SIL in the Solomon Islands. During that time, he and his wife supervised a New Testament translation and literacy project in partnership with local church and community leaders.
His ministry experience also includes leading intercessory prayer groups and Bible studies, serving in youth and prison ministries, and teaching Christian education and marriage enrichment courses. His extensive international experience equips him to encourage students as they prepare for cross-cultural ministry, build relationships with people from different cultures, and maintain their spiritual and emotional well-being during seasons of stress.
Boerger is also the author of The Interpreted New Testament: An Expanded Paraphrase with In-Line Commentary, published by Fontes Press. The book was written to make the message of the New Testament accessible to readers with limited biblical knowledge and to present familiar truths in a fresh way for devotional reading.
Boerger has served the DIU community for a decade as Administrative Assistant to the Dean of Academic Affairs. His knowledge of the university, its students, and its mission provides a strong foundation for this new area of service.
As Spiritual Life Consultant, Boerger will be available to local students for in-person meetings and to distance students through Microsoft Teams. His work supports DIU’s commitment to cultivating a Christ-centered academic community in which students are encouraged intellectually, personally, and spiritually.
